When is it good for?

What is it good for?

The Okayama–Hiroshima–Yamaguchi Area Pass is best value if you’re planning to visit Okayama, Hiroshima, and/or Yamaguchi prefectures, and you expect to use the Sanyo Shinkansen at least a couple of times.

It’s especially cost-effective when your itinerary includes multiple one-way rides across the corridor (for example: Okayama → Hiroshima → Yamaguchi → Hakata/Fukuoka, plus local travel in between). In many cases, it can work out cheaper than paying for a simple round trip between Okayama and Fukuoka, while also covering extra regional trains and other transport in the area.

This pass is a strong pick if your route includes major hubs such as:

  • Okayama
  • Hiroshima
  • Yamaguchi
  • Fukuoka

And it can also be useful for day trips or multi-stop travel to places like:

  • Kurashiki
  • Takamatsu
  • The Kumano Region
