There is no need to return the Data SIM Card. Once you are done using it and are about to leave Japan, you can throw it away.

Can I use the Data SIM card after I leave Japan?

No. The Data SIM only works in Japan as it can only connect to Japanese national networks.

Once you cross the border, you can no longer use the Data SIM.
