What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a virtual SIM card that you can download directly on to your phone, removing the need for a physical SIM Card. It allows you to access fast-speed internet on the biggest 4G network in Japan.

How do I activate an eSIM?

You activate the eSIM by scanning the QR code you receive by email on the device you wish to use. You’ll need a separate internet connection to do so. Note that once you have downloaded the activation code, you cannot use the eSIM on a different device. However, it can be re-downloaded on the same device.

When can I activate my eSIM?

You can activate your eSIM as soon as you receive your Shipping Confirmation by email. Once you’ve scanned the QR code and activated the eSIM, you have access to high-speed internet for 30 days.

Is my device compatible?

The eSIM can be used on any iPhone, iPad, or Android device released since 2019, but your device must be compatible with bands 1, 3 and 19. Please ensure you use a SIM-free device that supports e-SIM.
