However, between<strong> Otsuki and Shinjuku<\/strong>, the train couples with another 8 more cars (numbered 4 to 12).<\/p>\n<p>The full journey from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/shinjuku-station\">Shinjuku Station<\/a> will only take <strong>an<\/strong> <strong>hour and 55 minutes <\/strong>marking a huge timesaving for visitors. At the moment<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, 4 trains run daily on both weekdays and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The<strong> Fuji Excursion<\/strong> makes several stops at convenient stops for tourists including <strong>Otsuki <\/strong>(where you can see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/maglev-bullet-train\">world&#8217;s fastest train<\/a> at the Yamanashi Prefectural Maglev Exhibition Center), <strong>Fujikyu Highland<\/strong> (Japan\u2019s largest amusement park) and Kawaguchiko (next to Lake Kawaguchi).<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Route_and_stops\">Route and stops<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The<strong> Fuji Excursion<\/strong> is a regular limited express service which runs between Shinjuku on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/chuo-sobu-line\">Chuo Line<\/a> and Kawaguchiko (Lake Kawaguchi) on the Fujikyuko Line. There are two types of these supplementary tickets: the<strong> reserved seat ticket<\/strong> and the<strong> unreserved seat ticket<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The reserved ticket allows a specific <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/faq\/seat-reservation\">seat to be reserved<\/a>. There is a<strong> lamp above each seat <\/strong>which indicates whether a seat is reserved or not.<\/p>\n<p>A<strong> green light <\/strong>means a seat has been reserved, a <strong>red light<\/strong> signifies a seat in unreserved, and a<strong> yellow light\u00a0 <\/strong>shows that a seat has been reserved for a later part of the journey (passengers can sit in these seats but will have to give the seat up when the reserving passenger boards).<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> unreserved seat ticket<\/strong> allows passengers to sit on any of the unreserved seats.
