They typically call at key intermediate stops like <strong>Shin-Kobe, Okayama, and Hiroshima<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>However, there are <strong>hourly Hikari trains<\/strong> covering the Sanyo line between Shin-Osaka and Okayama.<\/p>\n<p>There is only one Hikari train departure per day that <strong>covers the eastbound journey connecting Hakata to Shin-Osaka<\/strong>, leaving at 20:52.<\/p>\n<p>The Hikari trains also provide a <strong>connection to Tokyo<\/strong>. In fact, the Nozomi trains typically complete the course of the Sanyo Shinkansen Line in <strong>about 2.5 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Nozomi trains depart <strong>3 or more times per hour<\/strong>. The last departure is shortly after 10:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>A similar schedule runs in the opposite direction from Hakata back toward Shin-Osaka, with the <strong>first departures just after 6:00 a.m.<\/strong> and the final trains leaving late in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>For exact train times and updated daily schedules, you can check the official <a href=\"https:\/\/japantravel.navitime.com\/en\/booking\/jr\/?cid=navitime.travel.base\">Navitime website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Sanyo_Shinkansen_Ticket_Prices\"><strong>Sanyo Shinkansen Ticket Prices<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A Sanyo Shinkansen fare for the full length of the line from Shin-Osaka to Hakata ranges from <strong>\u00a514,750 to \u00a522,290<\/strong>. Your fare depends on the type of seat (unreserved, reserved, or Green Car), as well as the train and travel time.<\/p>\n<p>Unreserved seats are the <strong>most economical option<\/strong>, while Green Car tickets provide extra comfort and space at the higher end of the price range.<\/p>\n<p>For the most up-to-date fares and detailed price breakdowns, you can check the official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westjr.co.jp\/global\/en\/ticket\/overview\/\">JR West website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Using_the_Japan_Rail_Pass_and_Regional_JR_Passes\">Using the Japan Rail Pass and Regional JR Passes<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Sanyo Shinkansen line is fully covered by the JR Pass on <strong>Sakura, Hikari and Kodama<\/strong> services.\u00a0Fares for <strong>Nozomi and Mizuho<\/strong> shinkansens are not fully covered. JR Pass holders can ride these shinkansen services <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/faq\/nozomi-mizuho-shinkansen\">paying a supplemental fee<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/faq\/japan-rail-pass-exchange-offices\">activate your JR Pass<\/a> for use by visiting one of the ticketing offices<strong> located at most major train stations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the national JR Pass, there are several <strong>regional JR pass that cover the Sanyo Shinkansen<\/strong>.
