The bullet train time is<strong> only 15 minutes<\/strong> or less and covers a distance of 56.4km. If you don\u2019t have a JR Pass, the Shinkansen price for this journey is 1,450 yen.<\/p>\n<p>The available train services between Shin-Osaka and Kyoto Station by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/tokaido-shinkansen-jr-pass\">Tokaido Shinkansen<\/a> are <strong>Nozomi, Hikari <\/strong>and <strong>Kodama<\/strong>. JR Pass holders can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/nozomi-shinkansen\">ride on a Nozomi<\/a> train if they pay a supplemental fee.<\/p>\n<p>There are Shinkansen departing from Shin-Osaka to Kyoto Station from 6:00 a.m to 10:30 p.m., one <strong>every 9 minutes or less<\/strong>, including Nozomi trains. The Special Rapid is the fastest and most convenient service in this line since it only stops at Osaka, Shin-Osaka, Takatsuki and Kyoto.<\/p>\n<p>The Special Rapid trains\u00a0run between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/osaka-station-city\">Osaka Station<\/a>\u00a0(departing from platforms 8, 9 and 10) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/kyoto-train-station\">Kyoto Station<\/a> and they take <strong>between 24 and 29 minutes <\/strong>(depending on the train schedule). Though they are slower than the bullet trains it\u2019s the quickest way if you\u2019re close to Osaka Station. This train runs from Osaka Station to Kyoto Station passing only by Shin-Osaka, and from Kyoto to Osaka. Though it\u2019s not the quickest, it only costs 400 yen so it\u2019s a good option if you haven\u2019t got a JR Pass. It also provides easy access to attractions in western Kyoto.<\/p>\n<p>A limited express train takes you on the <strong>Keihan main line<\/strong> from Yodoyabashi Station to Sanjo Station in 55 minutes and costs 410 yen. It\u2019s a handy option for sightseeing as stops close to many of Kyoto\u2019s most iconic sights. The fastest option is the<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/haruka-express-kansai-airport\"> Haruka Express<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(limited express) which takes <strong>70 minutes<\/strong> to get to Kyoto Station.
