Following on from the success of the Disney Magical Journey Shinkansen<\/a>, a new Disney bullet train<\/strong> took to the rails of Japan\u2019s high-speed rail network.<\/p>\n

The Wonderful Dreams<\/strong> Disney Shinkansen, a collaboration between JR Central and Tokyo Disney Resort<\/a>, launched on February 21, 2025. This special Disney shinkansen was introduced for a limited time to help<\/span> commemorate the opening of Tokyo DisneySea’s “Fantasy Springs” area. The train made it\u2019s final journey on September 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

The train was decorated with imagery from \u201cFantasy Springs\u201d<\/strong>, including scenes from films like Frozen<\/em>, Tangled<\/em>, and Peter Pan<\/em>. This marked the first special wrapping of trains running on the Tokaido Shinanksen<\/a> line in its 60-year history.<\/p>\n

While it was in operation, you could ride this train with your JR Pass<\/a>. You can still ride other special services with the JR Pass, such as the Hello Kitty shinkansen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Disney Shinkansen Wonderful Dreams route<\/h2>\n

Unlike the Disney Magical Journey Shinkansen, which operated on the Tohoku and Hokkaido lines, the Wonderful Dreams ran on the Tokaido Shinkansen line between <\/strong>Tokyo<\/strong> and Shin-<\/strong>Osaka<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It operated mainly on \u201cHikari\u201d and \u201cKodama\u201d services<\/strong> on the line, and included stops at Kyoto<\/a>, Toyohashi, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Shin-Yokohama and Shinagawa<\/a> stations.<\/p>\n

Wonderful Dreams bullet train features<\/h2>\n

The Wonderful Dreams Disney Shinkansen was an N700A series<\/a> with 16 cars. The exteriors were all painted with scenes from Disneyland\u2019s \u201cFantasy Springs\u201d area<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
