This means the station\u2019s lines are <strong>not covered by the Japan Rail Pass<\/strong>, so you must purchase a ticket to ride any of these services.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Getting_to_Asakusa_Station\">Getting to Asakusa Station<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Asakusa is <strong>accessible via several <b>types of transport<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0including the Tsukuba Express, Tobu Railway, and the Tokyo Water Bus.<\/p>\n<p>You can also reach the station <strong>via multiple subway lines<\/strong>, <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">making it<\/span> a straightforward journey regardless of your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/cities\/tokyo-travel-guide\">starting point in Tokyo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"From_Tokyo_Station\">From Tokyo Station<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/tokyo-train-station\">Tokyo Station<\/a>, take the JR Yamanote Line to <strong>Kanda Station<\/strong>, which takes about 2 minutes. This journey is included in your JR pass.<\/p>\n<p>Then, <strong>transfer to the Ginza Subway Line<\/strong> to reach Asakusa. There is no direct underground connection between Tobu Asakusa Station and Toei Asakusa Station.<\/p>\n<p>Check the details below on <strong>how different services are arranged<\/strong> within the station\u2019s layout. Though lines typically operate from the same parts of the station, you should always check your train\u2019s platform details carefully when you arrive.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Tobu_Asakusa_Station\">Tobu Asakusa Station<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>The Tobu Asakusa Station is integrated into the EKIMISE Department Store<\/strong>, operated by Matsuya. It has 3 island platforms serving 5 tracks. Tracks 1 and 2 serve local, semi-express, and express trains.<\/p>\n<p>Tracks 3 and 4 provide access to the various <strong>Limited Express trains<\/strong>. Track 5 serves the Limited Express <em>Revaty<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Tokyo_Metro_Asakusa_Station\">Tokyo Metro Asakusa Station<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The two side platforms of the Tokyo Metro station are <strong>located underground<\/strong>. Look for green-roofed structures of traditional architecture covering the entrances to the station, which are inspired by traditional Japanese architecture.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Toei_Asakusa_Station\">Toei Asakusa Station<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Located underground to the south of the Tokyo Metro part of the station is Toei Asakusa Station, which has <strong>two platforms<\/strong>. Through services on this line provide access to Haneda Airport and Narita Airport, depending on the train type.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Tsukuba_Express_Asakusa_Station\">Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Tsukuba Express part of the station is located around half a mile (<strong>less than a 10 minute walk<\/strong>) from the west of the primary station complex. It has a single underground island platform on the fourth basement level.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Locker_services_at_Asakusa_Station\">Locker services at Asakusa Station<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Each part of the station <strong>provides both key and automatic storage lockers<\/strong>. You can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/using-japanese-ic-cards\">IC cards such as Pasmo and Suica<\/a> (including on your cell phone\/digital wallet) to access the automatic lockers. They come in 3 different sizes.<\/p>\n<p>Locker services are popular, and due to the high volume of passengers that use the station, you may find them to be full in busy periods. For shopping, there is the EKIMISE Department Store in the Tobu Station building, or the ROX shopping complex nearby.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most notable attractions in the vicinity is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/sensoji-temple-tokyo\">Senso-Ji Temple<\/a>, located a short walk to the west of the Tsukuba Express portion of the station. It&#8217;s the <strong>oldest and most significant Buddhist temple in Tokyo<\/strong>, and is often considered one of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/best-temples-in-japan\"> best temples in Japan<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re visiting the area as a family, then <strong>a trip to the nearby Hanayashiki Park is a must<\/strong>.
