The Hakutaka also bypasses many stations between Tokyo and Nagano.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Hokuriku_Shinkansen_Bullet_Train_Services\">Hokuriku Shinkansen Bullet Train Services<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>You can use the Hokuriku Shinkansen to travel to <strong>Nagano, Kanazawa, Toyama, and a number of other destinations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Kagayaki_Shinkansen\"><strong>Kagayaki Shinkansen<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Stops<\/strong>: Tokyo &#8211; Ueno &#8211; Omiya &#8211; Nagano &#8211; Toyama &#8211; Kanazawa &#8211; Komatsu &#8211; Kaga Onsen &#8211; Awara Onsen &#8211; Fukui &#8211; Echizen-Takefu &#8211; Tsuruga<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Kagayaki is the fastest train <\/strong>on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line. This train stops from Tokyo to Kanazawa in Ueno Station, Omiya Station, Nagano Station and Toyama Station.<\/p>\n<p>The journey from Tokyo to Kanazawa will take you <strong>less than 2.5 hours<\/strong>. The train operates at 260 km\/h (160mph). The operating speed of Hakutaka is 260 km\/h (160 mph).<\/p>\n<p>About 1 in 3 Hakutaka trains <strong>travels all the way to Tsuruga<\/strong>. The last train of the day departs for Kanazawa at about 9:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Hokuriku Shinkansen trains run roughly <strong>every 20 to 40 minutes<\/strong> during peak hours, with reduced frequency at other times of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Schedules are similar for the return journey from Tsuruga or Kanazawa to Tokyo. The Kagayaki typically departs during morning and evening hours.<\/p>\n<p>The trip from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/kanazawa-travel-guide\">Tokyo to Kanazawa<\/a> takes only <strong>2.5 hours on the express train<\/strong> or about 3 to 3.5 hours on the non-express train.<\/p>\n<p>If using this train, <strong>make your seat reservations in advance<\/strong>. If all seats are booked, standing tickets can be purchased.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An additional train called the Tsurugi <\/strong>operates on this line between Kanazawa Station and Toyama Station.
