It\u2019s fast, convenient, and there are trains <strong>every 30 minutes<\/strong> (for most of the day). The <strong>Keisei Skyliner<\/strong> is slightly quicker than the Narita Express but it isn\u2019t covered by the JR Pass.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n            <a class=\"fasc-button banner-button-shortcode fasc-size-large fasc-type-flat fasc-rounded-medium ico-fa fasc-ico-after fa-chevron-circle-right fasc-style-bold\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/the-japan-rail-pass\">\n                Buy your JR Pass\n            <\/a>\n        <\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"The_cheapest_way_if_you_dont_have_a_JR_Pass\">The cheapest way (if you don\u2019t have a JR Pass)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you need to buy a single or return ticket there are numerous ways of getting from Narita to Shinjuku. <strong>The cheapest way of making the journey is by catching the regular Keisei Line<\/strong> as it only costs around <strong>1185 yen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers should be aware the line gets <strong>very busy during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/rush-hour-japan\">rush hour<\/a><\/strong> as it serves commuters in the capital. It offers a glimpse into what commuting is like in Tokyo but it\u2019s nearly <strong>impossible to get seat<\/strong> as it can be very uncomfortable when the train is packed full of people.<\/p>\n<p>The trains also <strong>don\u2019t have a any luggage racks<\/strong> which can be awkward during peak hours. It you have numerous bags or if you\u2019re traveling in a group and you all have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/transporting-luggage-forwarding\">luggage<\/a>, it\u2019s probably worth paying a bit extra for the Narita Express or the Keisei Skyliner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\"  decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-344\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/narita-express-map.gif\" alt=\"Narita Express route map\" width=\"560\" height=\"440\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"The_Fastest_Way\">The Fastest Way<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>Keisei Skyliner<\/strong> is slightly quicker than the Narita Express. It takes <strong>65 minutes<\/strong> which is around 20 minutes faster.<\/p>\n<p>The downsides are that it\u2019s <strong>more expensive<\/strong> (around 2,570 yen) and it\u2019s necessary to <strong>change at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/nippori-station\">Nippori Station<\/a><\/strong> and switch to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/yamanote-line\">Yamanote Line<\/a> to complete the journey to <strong>Shinjuku<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The service runs from 7:28 am to the final departure from Narita at 10:30 pm and trains leave <strong>every 20 minutes<\/strong>. You can buy tickets for the Keisei Skyliner in advance online and the service is not covered by the JR Pass.<\/p>\n<h2><span id=\"Narita_to_Shinjuku_by_Bus\">Narita to Shinjuku by Bus<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are <strong>3 different types of buses<\/strong> you can catch from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrailpass.com\/blog\/japan-airports#Narita_International_Airport\">Narita Airport<\/a> to Tokyo. However, they don\u2019t go quite so far as Shinjuku so you have to catch the <strong>Yamanote line<\/strong> for the final leg of the journey.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"Limousine_Bus\">Limousine Bus<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Limousine buses leave Narita Airport <strong>every 15-20 minutes<\/strong>. The journey takes <strong>1 hour 40 minutes<\/strong> (to Tokyo Station) and costs <strong>3100 yen<\/strong>. Discounted tickets for 900 yen are available in advance online.<\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"The_Access_Narita_Bus\">The Access Narita Bus<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>Access Narita Bus<\/strong> takes <strong>1 hour 30 minutes<\/strong> to reach Tokyo Station and Ginza Station. The one-way fare is <strong>1000 yen but 2,000 for late-night departures<\/strong>.
